  Many readers undoubtedly noted that this case arose out of the bankruptcy of a residential mortgage origination and servicing company that funded its lending operations by selling interests in securitized pools of mortgages, a business pattern that is not unfamiliar these days (nor indeed is the bankruptcy itself unfamiliar these days).
